Snake is a Vim meta-plugin that provides a deep integration of Python into the Vim editor, side-stepping Vim’s native esoteric scripting language (Vimscript), and allowing developers more control over what their editor can do.
Essentially, it allows developers to write their plugins in Python instead of Vimscript. This was before Neovim provided better plugin language alternatives.
